LeRoy Williams, Jr. was born on March 31, 1959 in
Baltimore, Maryland. He was the youngest child born to the
late LeRoy Williams, Sr. and Eleanora Camper-Williams. As a
child, LeRoy, Jr. was christened at the Milton Avenue United
Methodist Church, where he attended with his family.
LeRoy, Jr. received his education in the Baltimore City Public
School System from elementary to high school. Afterward,
he obtained employment as a mechanic at a car shop. He
enjoyed building and fixing things. He worked several jobs in
his lifetime including construction worker, railroad worker,
pool cleaner, and self-employed mechanic. LeRoy, Jr. gained
employment as a railroad worker and mechanic when he
moved to Philadelphia in 2000, but returned to Baltimore in
2001. LeRoy, Jr. remained with his father and family.
Later, LeRoy, Jr. was one of his father’s caregivers when he
became ill and bedridden until his passing on September 30,
2014. After this tremendous loss, LeRoy, Jr. assumed the role
of protector for his family.
LeRoy Williams, Jr. was 58 years old when he departed this
life on Sunday, April 16, 2017.
He is survived by: one uncle, Charles Diggs and wife, Lulay;
two sisters, Linnette Pearl Williams-Miller and Sharon Muriel
Williams-Brandon; two brothers-in-law, James Brandon and
Victor Walker; one nephew, Dennis Sean Edwards; three nieces,
Muriel Nicole Olowokakoko, Rashida Sharon Snowden, and
Tyiesha Eleanora Williams-Reaves; one nephew-in-law, Charles
Reaves; neighbors and extended family including the Briggs’;
and a host of other relatives and friends.
