Wayne Dwight Johnson was born to the late Palestine Horsey and the late Elmer Johnson, on March 5, 1952 in Baltimore Maryland.Wayne was called home on July 11, 2020 after a short illness.
He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System, and later attended and graduated from Job Corps.
In 1973 Wayne enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps. After his time in the Marines he worked as a CNA/GNA nursing assistant while furthering his education to gain his license as a Nurse Practitioner. He worked for Spring Grove and Clifton T. Perkins as a Security Attending Nurse for many years and always said "they were
his people". Wayne married the late Saundra Johnson and out this union they had two children; Wayne D. Johnson Jr. and Jewell Johnson.
Wayne loved his children and grandchildren, he loved his family. He enjoyed eating clams, family cookouts, and dinners. He also loved his quiet time coloring in coloring books listening to some gospel music
or the oldies but goodies. Wayne was denitely the life of the party, a jokester, he always had a funny story or statement that would send the whole room in a uproar of laughter. You were guaranteed a good time whenever he was around. Wayne made an impression on everyone he met. He also held a special place in his heart for all the
new babies in the family. He always told us "you did good" whenever he met our kids for the first time.
Wayne accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was a member of God's House of Worship under the leadership of Pastor Solomon Horsey and Pastor Anthony Calhoun until the Lord called
him home.
