VERNADETTE JACQUELINE ROGERS, daughter of the late Edward Ravenell Sr. and Sandra Williamson, was born on January 19, 1974 in Baltimore, Maryland.
She received her education from the Baltimore City Public Schools. She later pursued her collegiate studies at the Baltimore City Community College. Having met all the requirements for graduation, Vernadette was scheduled to graduate and receive her Associates Degree in Addiction Counseling on August 22, 2020.
Life presented many challenges for Vernadette, yet she somehow always seemed to persevere. Even during her own trials and tribulations she used her recovery experience to become a House Manager. This allowed her to help other recovering addicts and further inspired her in 2017 on a remarkable journey at such places as Powell, OOH, Anchor Manor, Seventy Time Seven Wellness Mission and concluding at Exodus Behavioral Health.
Vernadette loved her family and always looked forward to spending time with them. She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles in her spare time. Speaking at women's rap sessions was also something she looked forward to doing. Simply helping others was Vernadette's niche.
On Thursday, July 30, 2020, Vernadette peacefully slipped away and passed from labor to reward. In addition to her father and several other loved ones, she was preceded in death most recently by her niece Shawnna Spann.
She was loved by many and leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Raymond Marks (Tierra) and Twan Rogers; three grandchildren, Rayven Baker, Rayden Marks and Raelyn Marks; loving mother, Sandra Williamson; one sister, Shawnterri Williamson (Jack); one brother, Edward Ravenell Jr.; two nephews, Gerard Spann, Jr. and Ikeem Ravenell; one great niece, Mckinley Spann; favorite aunt, Lelia Oliver; god-mother, Charlene Chanutt; best friend, Monique; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
