Sylvester Ferguson Jr. Obituary

SYLVESTER FERGUSON was born on August 15, 1942 to the late Sylvester Ferguson, Sr. and Madeline Burke. He was raised on Ellsworth Street in East Baltimore. He transitioned from his earthly life on June 9, 2022 to embark on his journey to his eternal home.

Sylvester was a very loving and outgoing person. One would say he was always the life of the party. He was always someone to put a smile on someone's face, no matter how bad or down they felt. He was also quick to give a helping hand to anyone in need. To know him was to love him. He truly made his mark on this earth and everyone who was lucky enough to become acquainted with him.

Sylvester received his education in Baltimore City Public Schools. He then made a career working for Union Memorial Hospital, where he worked for 35 years. After which he worked a few part-time jobs before stopping to take care of his mother-in-law, Fannie Skinner.

While working at Union Memorial, he met the love of his life, Paula Skinner, whom he married on May 22, 1985. The two were inseparable and thick as thieves. They were married for 37 years; up until his passing. You never saw one without the other. They truly showed family, friends and others what real love was all about. On Tuesday June 7, while in Union Memorial Hospital Sylvester told Paula that it was time for him to get out of here. When asked where are you going, he stated "To Heaven".

Sylvester leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Paula Ferguson, and two daughters, Latisha Coleman and Kisha Ferguson. He also leaves four stepsons, Paul Gladden, Donald Gladden, Demetrius Gladden (Jania) and Patrick Gladden (Chaunta); his 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 nephew, Steven Jackson (Tonya), nieces, cousins and a host of dear family and friends. His brother, Alfred Garrison b/k/a pineapple, preceded him in death as well as his nephew, Plucky.

Rest on cousin, you fought a noble fight; now rest in peace.
