STEVEN HOWARD ADAMS was born to Alma D. Bundy Jones and Howard Adams on June 30, 1952. The lord called Stteven home on
He received his education in the Baltimore City Public Schools and the Job Corps. He was employed several years as a maintenance engineer at different apartment complexes throughout Baltimore City. He retired in 2014 from Job Housing and Recovery Homeless Shelter, where he served as a Facility Monitor for several years. Although retired, he continued to help family and friends with home repairs and maintenance when called upon.
Steven loved to amuse his family and friends with tales of his adventures, his karate moves and his acrobatic flips and somersaults. His dance moves were always delightful to watch and brought laughter to those around him.
In 1967, he met the love of his life, Thelma Rose affectionately known as "Jean" by family and friends. After a long courtship they were married in holy matrimony on September 23, 1972, by the Rev. Dr. W.S. Chambers. Steven attended New Antioch Baptist Church and was taught under the leadership of Rev. Dr. W.S. Chambers, where he received his Christian experience. In 2004, he renewed his membership at Greater Liberty Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. W.S. Chambers. He remained a devoted member and served under the current Pastor of the Greater Liberty Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Pett Allen Jr. up until his death. He loved singing and praising the Lord and was a faithful member of the Male Chorus and Mass Choir. He inspired his grandson, Shamar who loved to sing with him and mimic his moves.
Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Alma, father, Howard and his brother Robert.
Steven leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, jean Adams; three children, Steven Adams Jr. Sharonda Eley (Vann) and Shauna Burke (Marcis); seven grandchildren; Vanye and Vanden Eley, Zyiona Kennedy, Saniya Johnson, Shamar Burke, Christian and Caris Adams; one sister, Subrina Johnson; three brothers, Gary Myers, Bruce Ben and Glen Ford all of Baltimore, Maryland, four sisters-in-law, Lillie Cottingham, Odessa Coleman, Lovella Johnson and Bettie Rose all of Baltimore, Maryland, two brothers-in-law, James Rose (Maria) and Thomas Rose (Shirley) of Baltimore and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
