Shawnna M Johnston

Early on Thursday morning July 6, 2023, God called home one of his precious children, Shawnna Marie Butler-Johnston. Born on February 2, 1986, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Edward Butler and Raychel D. Atkinson, Shawnna was educated through Baltimore City Public School System.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church (BMBC), in Baltimore City since May, 2001. She felt honored to be training as Deaconess at BMBC, and a member of it's Women's Ministry. She was diligent and supported the church when needed.

Shawnna had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile. She was a private and quiet person, but also very witty and fun! She was fearless and independent, yet sensitive and incredibly compassionate giving in however way she could help her fellow man, she would.

She married Brian Johnston in 2015, they grew and maintain a beautiful marriage and family together, she liked to design, create and decorate for events, so she started her own business "Shawnie's Secret Design" which was growing very fast. She work at Best Buy, Comcast Xfinity and finally with the Department of Veterans Affairs she enjoyed the work she was doing.

Shawnna leaves to mourn her husband, Brian Johnston; her daughter, Shamya Kenan; two sons, Austin and Caleb Johnston; two sisters, Kelly Anthony and Shanquetta Butler; one brother, Andrew Butler (wife Tisha), and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and good friends.
