SAMUEL JUNIOR DAVENPORT, beloved son of the late Charlie and Elizabeth Davenport, was born September 12th, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was led home by grace on January 9th, 2021.
Samuel was educated in the Baltimore City Public School Systems and was employed at several construction companies. Samuel recently dedicated his life to Christ at New Hope in Baltimore, Maryland,
Doobie, or Scoop as he was affectionately called was well loved by his family, friends and everyone who knew him. He was the best company to keep, being around him, you always knew you were going to laugh. The kind of laugh that makes your stomach hurt and your eyes water. He would begin his morning with a smile, singing and yelling around the house. He enjoyed watching westerns and ION tv everyday. Except on football Sundays when Dallas cowboys played and he couldn’t sit down, stomping his feet and yelling ”HERE WE GO DALLAS HERE WE GO!” More than anything in the world he enjoyed being the best father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his kids, and a loving husband to his boo, Bridget. They shared 43 years of real love, laughter, affection, strength, and of dancing. ”Dance with me boo” she insisted, and they would dance all night. He leaves her behind to now dance in the sky.
Doobie leaves to carry on his memories: his two daughters, Shaneika and Shaquandra; his one and only son, Sherrod; five grandchildren, Tanaja, Tanarsh, Shameya, Shamya, and Sage; two greatgrandchildren, My’Asia and My’Leah. At heaven's gate he is reunited with all four of his sisters, Joyce, Lenora, Levera and Ardell and also his oldest brother Stanley as they all watch over and protect his youngest brother Joseph. Two best friends, Horace and Mucho. He also has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him.
