Ruth Jordan-EL Obituary

RUTH N. JORDAN-EL was born to the late Amelia McDaniel and Melvin Botts Sr. on March 30, 1949 in Baltimore Maryland. After a brief illness, she was called from labor to reward in the evening of January 28, 2019. 

Ruth was educated in Baltimore City Public School System. Ruth married her late husband Joe Jordan-El later in life whom she dearly loved. Ruth worked since she was 15 years old; she was always a working woman providing for her family,. She retired in the year of 2005. Later down the line she moved in with her granddaughter Candice Muse her "China Doll", who helped take care of her. Ruth enjoyed living with her granddaughter; it wasn't a dull moment that past. "She keep me young and fly"  as she would always tell her granddaughter. She enjoyed spending all her time with her grandchildren.

Ruth was affectionately known to many as "Gangsta Granny" the name she really took to the heart. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a very early age and in the later years joined Memorial Baptist Church. Ruth was known by many and they showed her the uttermost respect. She had the most loving personality and she also had no problem speaking her mind, getting someone straight and telling it like it is. Ruth loved spending time at home watching her favorite TV shows, Matlock, John Wayne movies, The Good the Bad and the Ugly just to name a few.

Ruth also loved drinking her favorite beer Colt 45; she always had her cup in her hand. Ruth loved her family and she loved being around them. Her pride and joy was her grandkids she would always sit on the porch and enjoy watching them play and dance, she would occasionally get up and do a little two step of her own, she loved to dance. Ruth LIVED a wonderful 69 years of her life and with no regrets, but plenty of memories.

The following preceded her in death; her husband Joe Jordan-El, parents Amelia McDaniel and Melvin Botts Sr., siblings Bernice Simmons, Kenny Smith, Earleen Botts and Melvin Botts Jr.

Ruth leaves to mourn and cherish her memory: two sisters Delores McCall and Deborah Williams, two brothers Daniel Botts and George Botts, her children Roszetta Timmons, India Timmons and Yvette Smith; her grandchildren, Teon Reynolds, Ruth Reynolds, Candice Muse, Johnathan Young, Antonio Watts, Rumondo Wise, Danielle Brown, Letoya Brown, Quinton Dennis, Jeria Raye and Gerald Dawkins, 20 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
