RUFUS ANTHONY GLASGOW III, the baby boy to Diane Powell Glasgow and the late Rufus (Junnie) Glasgow Jr., was born December 10, 1979, at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life after a lengthy illness on January 28, 2024.
Rufus, affectionally known as Tony, was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. Tony gave his life to Christ at a young age. He worshipped and played drums at the Garden of Prayer Christian Church until his adult age. Tony's passion for music was evident in every beat of his heart and the rhythm of his life. He found comfort and joy in playing the drums, where his talent and enthusiasm created a unique soundtrack for countless family gatherings and celebrations.
In addition to his musical talents, Tony was an avid card player, making every game of spades or engaging in friendly competition, Tony brought a sense of fun and warmth to every card table. He also found happiness walking into anyone's home looking for food to cook. He could throw down in the kitchen as well. Playing sports was also his thing to do when growing up and in his spare time.
Tony spent his life embracing the joy of simple pleasures. A man of unwavering dedication, he was a hardworking individual who poured his heart into everything he did. His commitment to providing for his family was a testament to his strong work ethic, and his sacrifices reflected his boundless love for those he held dear.
Tony was preceded in death by his Father, Rufus Glasgow Jr. and daughter Brionna Glasgow.
Tony leaves to cherish his memory and Legacy; his mother, Diane Powell Glasgow (Stanley); his children, Janiyah Glasgow and Chauntaja Gathers; his one and only sister, Tonya Glasgow; three grandsons, Da'Vonte Armstrong, Pryda Simmons, Cross Figgs, Uncle William Powell, twin cousin, Nicole Gray, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friend.
