Roxann Kirkland, daughter of the late Wilbert, and Ida Mae Byers, was born on December 13,1953 in Baltimore, Maryland. The Lord called her home on Friday, June 19,2020.
Roxann attended and graduated from Dunbar High School. She worked at Globe Blind for many years, where she met her husband. Accepting Christ at an early age, her first pastor was Ralph Dennis. She later followed him until she became a member at Kingdom Worship Center for many years. She attended that church along with her children,and dear friends.
Roxann was known as ' Rock" to many. Her husband gave her that nickname. Leroy and Roxann got married and have been together ever since.
Later on, she became a employee at The Baltimore Sun now Baltimore Sun Media. Roxanne, worked there for 36 years. She became the first female that retired from Pressroom Senior Journal.
Roxann, loved everyone and enjoyed being with family and friends . Roxann and her older sister Stella were very close and tight beyond sisters more like sister/bestfriends they did alot together. She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory, husband Leroy Kirkland Jr; one daughter, Roxanne McGraw-Brown, one son in-law, Thomas Brown; granddaughter, April Foreman; one great grandson, Gene Foreman III; stepson, Leroy Kirkland III; three sisters, Wanda Stella Sykes, Ida Mae Fliggins, and Loretta Byers; special nieces/friends, Micheal, Bobby, Curry, Lisa, and Muriel; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many other loving relatives and friends. In remembrance. one beloved son (decease) Gregory Peck McGraw Jr.; two sister-in-laws, Rozeane Faulk and Denise Drinkard; two nieces she was like a mother to, Sharisa Cherry and Tamantha Shane.
