Robin Frazier Obituary

Robin Frazier Distance, was born March 11,1955, to Ruth and the late Robert Frazier.  After a brief illness, God in His infinite wisdom called her into eternal rest on October 19, 2018.

Loving and caring in all she did, Robin led a Christian life always willing to help anyone she could.

At and early age she gave her life to Christ and was baptized at Southern Baptist Church.        She later transferred her membership to the Wayland Baptist Church.  Upon her death she was          worshipping at Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as superintendent of the Sunday school. The church was her life.  She loved vacation bible school and Sunday church services.

Robin loved her family.  She, along with her siblings (Robert and Rhonda) often celebrated birthdays together.  Whenever you saw her, you were sure to see her mother: Ruth.

Robin graduated from Eastern High School.  She then attended  Coppin State College and in 1977 earned a Bachelors degree in Special Education.  Continuing her graduate studies at Coppin, Robin achieved her Masters in Education.  Shortly after, she became employed by the Baltimore City Public Schools, where she dedicated her life to the educational development of our youth for forty-one(41) years.  Her students loved her.  Many of them remained in contact with her during their adult life.

Although she had no biological children, she had a passion, enthusiasm, and dedication to many children that life bought her way.  Teacher, mentor, second mother and friend, Robin touched the lives of the children of family, friends and strangers.  After retirement Robin volunteered her time at the Victory Day School  in Reisterstown.

Robin loved  everyone, co-workers, students, neighbors, church members, family and friends.  A holiday didn't past without her preparing meals and feeding the multitude.  There was no dish she couldn't cook.  If you had a taste for it, she would prepare it.

Since her junior year of college, Robin has been a member of Sigma Gamma Rho sorority.  Often sharing all of her sorority experiences on Facebook.  Facebook was her social media connection to everyone.  Whenever she got dressed up, she posted it.  Whatever the new experience she posted it.   Facebook documented the story of her life and allowed her to keep in touch with family and friends near and far.

Robin met and married Rodney Distance.

Preceding, her in death were her father, Robert Frazier: sister , Rhonda Frazier Long: grandmother, Beulah Bailey: uncles, Clinton, Matthew, Winfield and Henry (Peter Rabbit) and nephew, Robert, III.
