Robert Carter Obituary

ROBERT CARTER, the eldest son of William and Margaret Carter, was born on August 22, 1929. After a rapid decline in health, he peacefully departed this life on Monday, March 1, 2021.

Robert was the oldest of ten children in which five preceded him in death.

Robert, affectionately known as "Crow" received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. He later went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, traveling to Germany and Paris. He learned to speak four different languages fluently.

Robert later met and married the love of life, Isabell. They were married for sixty-eight years, and from that union came thirteen children.

Robert was an Araber, an outdoor roving fruit vendor and a processor in scarp metal for over sixty-five years. He taught everyone in the business and was the best to ever do it.

Crow was also a music connoisseur for all types of music, but Jazz had his heart. Besides spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed recording music CD's to give away to anyone he encountered, even complete strangers. He would record CDs for hours or even days at a time.

Robert rededicated his life to Christ over twenty-five years ago at Friendship Baptist Church, and seldomly missed a service.

Robert had a kind heart and gentle spirit as most grandparents do, even up until his last days. At the age of ninety-one, he remained independent with an energetic personality.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, the late Isabell Carter, and four of his children.

Robert will truly be missed by his family and friends.

He leaves to mourn: three sisters, Dorothy, Janice and Ivon; one brother, Atif Ali; four sons, Wilbur, Robert, Albert and Keith; five daughters, Nadine, Deborah, Ivon, Vera and Roberta; fifty grandchildren; one hundred five great grandchildren; forty great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Fields and Gwen Ali; one son-in-law, Clyde Harrington; two daughters-in-law, Florence and Vonda Carter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
