Reginald Arthur Winmond was born on January 30, 1947 in Baltimore, MD to Katherine Winmond and James Evans, Jr. Reggie, as he was affectionately called, was the only child to the couple. He was raised in Baltimore and graduated from Edmondson High School where he played football.
Reggie served in the Army, and upon his return home, he married Rose Naomi Grimes, affectionately known as "Ditty" and became a father to her son, Timothy L. McCauley (deceased). In 1971 the couple had one son from their union, Rodney C. Winmond. Rose passed away in 1990.
Reggie worked in Baltimore in the Maryland Correctional System for 30 years, where he had a tremendous impact on the lives of both his co-workers and inmates in the facilities where he worked. He was a sharp dresser and loved to coordinate with the matching hat, shoes and watch. If he was leaving the house, he had to have his shades. As an avid lover of both history and current events, you could always find him watching the news or a documentary. He had strong political views based on his own interpretation of past and current events.
In 1994 Reggie got a second chance at love and married Karen "Lynne" Smith. The two of them were inseparable until her death in July of 2022.
Reggie's family grew with the addition of Lynne's three sons, Anthony Johnson, John Saunders, and Ernest Shoffner and their children. Their home was always filled with family, friends and a lot of love.
Reggie leaves behind his sons Rodney C. Winmond (Teara), Anthony Johnson (Torshell), John Saunders, Ernest Shoffner (Latasha), his grandchildren, Jade, Patrick, Tiffany, Reece, Logan, Shemeka, Keenan, Jovan, (Bernard deceased), Devante, Kayla Keon, Kennedy, Karson, Charley, Anthony Johnson Jr. London Sr., Quonte, Linnell and great-grand children, Saige, Kardi, Sola, London Jr, Telin, Dimonte, Zyte, Noah, Jon, Nova'Joy and a host of extended family and friends.
