Raymond Leroy Harrison was born on May 13, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the middle child of six, of the belated William Harrison and Christine Lambert Harrison. Raymond peacefully passed away on March 30, 2024, after bravely battling cancer.
Raymond was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system and graduated from Fairmount Hill High in 1969. Following his graduation, he became gainfully employed at Bethlehem Steel, Sparrows Point, MD. During his time at Bethlehem Steel, he was injured and would have a disability that would affect him for the rest of his life. Raymond had many battles; however, he persisted and overcame it with the help of his family. He worked at Alliance for over 10 years. He really enjoyed working and living on his own. Raymond was diligent to make it to work daily. He retired in 2023 due to illness.
From a tender age Raymond was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness by his parents. He believed in Jehovah’s hope of a resurrection. Raymond was known as a man of few words. His quiet demeaner, strength left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He endured his last months under the care of Gilchrist and Agape Assisted Living Home. He received love, reassurance and comfort from his family and care givers. Raymond was a person who did not require much, he enjoyed being left alone and most of all working.
Raymond will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. He is survived by his only living sibling, Sister, Shirley D. Cherry; His devoted niece and nephew whom he allowed to assist him, Anthony & Rosalind Jones; loving nieces, Antoineya & Keisha Harrison and Katrina Blackwell; beloved nephew, Antoine Harrison; nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins, and friends.
