Randy Clay Mont was born on September 30, 1961, to Emma Hall-Mont and the late, Lumell Mont Sr., in Baltimore, MD. Randy departed his journey of life on July 26, 2023. During his life he nurtured, lead, and loved many.
Randy attended Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Lake Clifton High School. After school, he joined the Naval Academy, graduating on October 31, 1980. He served in the United States Navy from then until April of 1983. Following his time in the military, Randy began his career as an EMT and paramedic, with the Baltimore City Fire Department. He later retired while on the Hazmat 1 Unit at Steadman Station Firehouse. On September 25, 1990, Randy was blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Randi Crystal Mont. Throughout life, he was blessed to be able to foster and share his love with four additional daughters: Rev. Carla Johnson, Corde’ Buck, Jennelle Battle and Kayona Arnold.
Randy loved watching CNN and ESPN, all the time. He found pleasure in researching important topics, such as, the lost books of the bible, family heritage, and lineage. Randy had a way to ensure you felt like your thoughts and feelings were the most important in his world. He enjoyed listening to music and singing along. Above all, he was a hero! His career with the Baltimore Fire Department gave him many meaningful experiences, stories to share, and long-term friendships.
Randy leaves to mourn his memory: His partner in life & love, Naomi Conway; His mother, Emma Hall-Mont; His daughters, Randi Mont, Carla Johnson (Joi), Corde’ Buck (Daniel), Jennelle Battle (James), and Kayona Arnold; His Siblings, Lillian, Lumell Jr, Purnell, and Ronnie Mont (Donnie); His Grandchildren, Braylon, Gianna, and Roman Buck, Zander Reid, Bryce and Brayden Francis-Johnson, Sophia Moaney, Ty’Shaun and Ty’Jae Lofton, Ar’na , Anthony Jr., and Ar’Layah Williams; His Nieces, Vanessa, Veronica, Terry and Keisha Mont, Tanya Alise', and Angie Gant; His Nephews, David McCutcheon and Lumell Mont III; His Great-Nieces, Paige, Bailey, Najah, and Nyah; His Great nephews, Antoine, Malik, Darry and James; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
