Life's journey began for Nadine Gloria Cook (affectionately known as Teeny) on February 24, 1961. She was the sixth child to the late Jasper and Ruth Cook. Her earthly journey came to a pause late afternoon on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
Nadine received her primary education in Baltimore City Public Schools. She received her high school diploma from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School graduating in 1979. Dunbar High School is where Nadine forged a life-long friendship with Tanya Allen and Kim Weldon-Sullivan. This unbreakable bond lasted up until her last hours surrounded by the two of them.
Despite her father's (Jasper Cook) untimely passing in 1979, Nadine continued her educational path by attending Coppin State College. Her College journey was abruptly interrupted with the transition of her mother (Ruth Cook) in 1982. Within the same year she gave birth to her "One and Only Son" (Dominique Choice) as she affectionately called him.
Nadine was employed by Johns Hopkins Hospital for over a decade. Her commitment to becoming a Nurse was unwavered with her returning to college to receive her degree in 1993 from Baltimore City Community College making Nadine the first-generation college graduate of her family. For twenty plus years, Nadine worked as a Registered Nurse throughout Baltimore and Atlanta at multiple Senior Rehabilitation Centers.
Her sole purpose in life was to care for others. She's been instrumental in raising her great nephews and nieces: Demetrius, Dieon, Destiny and Donshay. Nadine had a heart of gold and always willing to help friends, family, or coworkers.
Nadine love spending time with her fur babies (Cody and Preston) and would constantly bring them up in conversation. She could be found walking her dogs multiple times of day rain, hail, sleet or snow.
Nadine is not alone: she will be welcomed in Heaven by loving family members. Among those family members will be: Parents Jasper and Ruth Cook; siblings, Patricia Polk, Dwayne Cook, and Kenya Cook; brother-in-law, Joseph James; niece, Brenda Polk and nephew-in-law, Eugene Carter.
Nadine leaves precious memories to be cherished by; a loving and devoted son, Dominique Choice; siblings, Jacqueline James, Janice Cook, Anthony Cook and Bryant Jones; uncles, Vernon Cook and Julius Green; aunts, Addie Johnson, Ida Mae Rather and Cecelia Campbell; six nephews, ten nieces, fifteen great nephews, nine great nieces and seventeen great-great nephews and nieces; two devoted cousins, Laverne Young and Bernard "Jack" Young; two best friends, Kim Weldon-Sullivan and Tanya Allen; two dogs, Cody and Preston; and a host of relatives and friends.
