Michael Allen Obituary

Michael D. Allen was born on November 15, 1967 to the late Shirley E. Holmes-Bey and Matthew D. Allen Sr. Michael was raised in Baltimore, Maryland, he spread his wings on April 8,2024 at UMMC from a lengthy illness. He was a true soldier and fought to the end.

He was fondly called Fat/Big Mike by all his family and friends. He was truly the baby of the family and got away with everything.

Mike attended Baltimore City Public Schools, raised in East Baltimore.

In the earlier 90’s he was introduced to the Islam Religion, he encouraged so many young guys throughout zone 18 to try Allah. He loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed listening to many genres of music but hip hop, R&B was his favorite. So many of his friends has reached out to me about mentioning how much Mike has impacted generational love amongst so many of them stemming from their father’s, brother’s, sons and nephews. Wow, I realize from all the friends that have reached out to me that baby brother was genuinely loved and appreciated by his zone 18 tribe.

Mike played his lottery numbers everyday rain or snow it just did not matter his numbers were going to get played, I am going to spill a little tea here. My dad was also a avid lottery player. He also had a hell of a sense of humor always had the crowd laughing even as a kid.

Mike  was a force to be reckoned with on the court, he was considered the great power forwarded on the basketball court. Him and the guys would play basketball all around East Baltimore area at any Basketball court. Especially at Coldstream Rec them guys would play ball until the night lights came on. One thing for sure Mike enjoyed watching Basketball, Football and Boxing religiously on TV. He also enjoyed playing Chess and Dominos with the guys.

Fat Mike worked multiple jobs prior to relocating to Atlanta in 2002 to start a printing company. He would design his own tee-sheets, hoodies etc. Once he returned to Baltimore, he began working for Baltimore City Housing Authority as a security guard and was driving for Lyft and UHHWEE, We Care Transportation.

Fat Mike is preceded in death by five siblings, Mary (Fannie), Matthew Jr. (Man), Keith, Tracy and Anthony; one uncle Sloane; nieces and nephews Tyrone Jr., Anthony Jr. (Lil Antmoe), Earllonya (Bookie), Lemell, Andrew and William (Muggie).

Fat Mike leaves to cherish his memories: seven siblings, 6 sisters Darlene, Harriet, Renee, Maxine, Brenda, and Pauline one brother Matthew (Mack) two aunts Pauline and Alice and one uncle Charles (Chubby) a host of nieces and nephews, to mourn his lost. Also, he  leaves his Godmother Ms. Betty and his Godson Anthony Venable Jr.  to mourn his lost and I can not possibly leave out the abundance of cousins, and friends that love him profoundly.
