Mary Evelyn Boyd, affectionately known as Mimi, was born on September 23, 1927 to Evelyn Mary and Kelly Joseph Hance in Baltimore, MD. Mimi was the oldest daughter from this union. Mimi was one of eleven children. Mimi was called home on Good Friday, April 2, 2021.
Mimi attended St. Frances Academy. After leaving the academy, she was employed at Maryland Cup Company. Mimi later worked at Valley Inn until retirement. Mimi spent several years post retirement working for the Social Security Administration.
Mimi wed Nathaniel Boyd on June 24, 1949. Mimi bore two children, Rhona M. and Oscar E. (deceased).
Mimi was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was involved with the Legion of Mary, Catholic Daughters and served as an Eucharistic Minister. Mimi was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Mimi was known for her outgoing nature, family pride and being a travel enthusiast.
Mimi leaves to mourn, her daughter, Rhona Pack; son in law, Roland Pack Jr.; brothers, Frances X. Hance (Margaret), Irving R. Knight Jr. (Mertha); sister, Elizabeth Hance; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
