Mamie Mints Obituary

Mamie Lovella (Jones-Dickens) mints was born on March 29, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Frank Jones and Frances Keys. She departed this life after a lengthily battle with cancer on April 8, 2020.

Mamie received her education from the Baltimore City School System and devoted her life to being a wife and mother. While she loved to fish, play cards, host gatherings, and go to Val's Casino; the thing she loved most was cooking for family and friends. People would come from afar for her infamous “Minced Barbeque” and Potato Salad! Mamie loved her family, although often a silent woman, she cared for each and every one of them in her own unique way.

Motherhood was one of the most precious journeys of Mamie’s life, as she welcomed her first born, James Jones, Sr. at a young age In 1955 she married the late Arthur Dickens, Sr., who preceded her in death. From that union, they welcomed seven children; Arthur Dickens, Jr. (preceded in death), Wade Dickens Sr., Paul and Paulette Dickens, Raymond Joe Dickens Sr., Marvin Dickens (preceded in death) & Valerie Dickens.

Many years and experiences later, Mamie reconnected with her true love and childhood sweetheart – Frank Garnett Mints. Ultimately Mamie and Frank married . She was never happier than with him and mourned him until her very last breath. He always made everything alright…she will lie next to him under the stars for eternity.

Mamie leaves to carry on her family: Six children James Jones Sr.,Wade Dickens Sr., Paul and Paulette Dickens, Raymond Joe Dickens Sr., & Valerie Dickens; Step children: Polly Broxley, Frank Mints Jr., and Minnie Mints; Two siblings Elizabeth Alexander (Sister), Issac Jones (Brother).
