Mae A. Wilkins was born in Mecklenburg County, Blackridge, Virginia at 4:00am, January 28, 1938 to the late Emmit L. Carroll and Eleh Carroll. Mae departed this life on October 5, 2021 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Mae attended school at James Solomon Russell High in Brunswick County, Virginia.
At an early age, she joined Good Hope Baptist Church in Blackridge, Virginia. Mae was employed at the Department of Defense for 23 ½ years.
On December 13, 1958, Mae was married to the late Rudolph Wilkins, Sr.; to this union six children were born. One son preceded her in death. She was a loving, dependable, funny, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Mae leaves to mourn two daughters’ Cynthia Michelle House of Lawrenceville, VA and Jennell Page of Baltimore, MD; three sons, Raven Wilkins of Bel Air, MD, Erwin Wilkins of Baltimore, MD, and Keith Wilkins of New Freedom, PA; three daughters-in-law, Donna Wilkins of Bel Air, MD, Charlene Wilkins of Baltimore, MD, and Kelly Wilkins of New Freedom, PA; one son-in-law, Jarvis M. Page, Sr. of Baltimore, MD; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley C. Ivey of Lawrenceville, VA; one brother, Johnny B. Carroll of Hampton, VA; two sisters-in-law, Mary Carroll of Hampton, VA and Lavern Wilkins of Baltimore, MD; two brothers-in-law, Ben J. Wilkins, Jr. of Baltimore, MD and James T. C. Brown of Ebony, VA; a loving niece that she raised as a daughter, Constance Cornell of Baltimore, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
