Leonard Ward Jr,. was born March 25, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Elizabeth and Leonard Ward Sr.
Lenny received his education at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. He graduated in June 1971. Lenny worked at Blue Point Crab House on Montford Avenue and Dunbar High School for many years. When he was about 30 years old, he landed his dream job at the Baltimore Convention Center as a Building Engineer where he put in thirty-five years and said that’s enough and he retired. I
n 1969 when Lenny was seventeen, he met the love of his life Janet. They married on July 17, 1972. From their union they had two children Lynette and Lil Lenny. Before they got married they decided their family first names would begin with a ” L”. Later on in life, Lenny met a close friend Carolyn and from their relationship, they had Lenny’s youngest son Eric. He loved them all.
Lenny loved old music in his 20’s and 30’s. He sang in a couple of groups. Lenny had a wonderful tenor voice. He loved to sing and oh yes, he loved himself some Baltimore Ravens.
Lenny was preceded in death by his father Leonard Ward Sr., mother Elizabeth A. Ward, brother Michael Ward and sister- in-law Brenda Ward.
Lenny is survived by daughter, Lynette C. Ward; sons, Lenny D. Ward and Eric Sanders; ex- wife Lois J. Ward; Carolyn,; three grandsons, Dayron, Darian, and OJ; nieces, Lanita W. Peterkin and Laurita Ward; nephew, Michael Ward; aunts, Catherina Lewis and Evelyn Anderson; uncles, Johnny Allen and George Allen; four sisters- in- laws Peggy, Mildred from Roxboro N.C., Mary and Tracy from Baltimore MD;. brothers- in- laws, Lonnie and James from Roxboro N.C. and numerous loving family members and just a few of his special friends from back in the day Butch Cooper, Vanessa Griffin, Gloria Parker, and the Millernettes Gospel Singers
