LARRY BENNETT NELSON was born on August 7, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Thomas Nelson, Sr. and Doris Nelson.
Larry was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. He graduated from Baltimore City College High School in June of 1970. City taught him his work ethic. Larry worked part time at Hines Bakery his entire high school career. After graduation, Larry attended Morgan State University. Larry was employed as a certified maintenance mechanic. He held many positions for corporations like Crown Cork and Seal, Becton Dickinson and several others throughout the Maryland region.
Larry accepted Christ and was baptized into Christian Fellowship with the Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Moses Williams. Larry loved the Lord. Larry was a faithful servant. He was a member of the Men's Chorus and the Security Ministry.
Larry loved cars, fashion, movies and sports. He loved spending time with family and friends. His infectious smile and laughter could be enjoyed by all at various affairs, cookouts and holidays. Larry loved to talk. He would spark up a conversation with anyone and anywhere.
Out of all his loves, his grandsons was his greatest. They affectionately called him PopPop Larry. He loved attending their sporting events and was their biggest fan.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Craig; daughter-in-law, Wendy; three grandsons, Sean, Jr., Cameron and Ryan; brother, Eric; sister, Deborah; niece, Tracy (Sean); nephew, Thomas III (Maritza); two special aunts, Naon and Oveda; four great nieces, Brianna, Karter, Sloane and Aliana; one great nephew, Nicholas; cousins, Natalie, Michael and Sheila; and a host of extended family and friends. He will also be missed by lifelong friends, Leonard Martin..
