KELVIN EUGENE LUCAS SR., age 62, departed from this world on Thursday, April 4, 2024.
Kelvin was born on May 25, 1960, to his beloved parents Edwin and Viola Lucas in Baltimore, MD. He attended Baltimore City Public Schools from elementary to high school. From a young age. Kelvin was always a curious kid who liked to explore the world around him. He was an adventurous spirit who found joy in playing sports and spending time with his peers. Kelvin's love for outdoor activities shaped his childhood and remained with him throughout his life.
In 2015, Kelvin rededicated his life to Christ and became an active member of the City Temple of Baltimore, serving diligently on the usher board. Over the past few years, Kelvin worked tirelessly at the Lyric Theater and often shared his enjoyment of his position. Through his employment, he built great relationships with his colleagues and created friendships that extended beyond the workplace.
Kelvin was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness and compassion knew no bounds. In many letters that Kelvin left behind, he often spoke of his upbringing, his struggles, and all the lessons he was able to learn throughout his lifetime, such as the importance of being connected to family. Throughout his life, Kelvin was known for his infectious smile, willingness to help others and unwavering commitment to his loved ones. His presence brought joy and warmth to all who knew him, and his passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those he touched.
Kelvin was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Viola Lucas and his dear siblings, Betty, Ruby and Yvonne. He leaves to mourn his four children Kelvin E. Lucas Jr., Kyonna Lucas. Ky'Sean Lucas and Aaliyah Lucas; stepdaughter, Denika (Terrell) Dantzler; daughter-in-law, Ti"Shia Tyler; four grandchildren, Kei'yon Lucas-Smith, Bre'yonna Lucas-Jones, Taylah Lucas and Taliyah Lucas; sister Lucille Megginson; and a host of relatives and friends who loved him dearly. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched with his kindness and love.
