Joseph Swann, affectionately known as “Joe” was born on February 6, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland to Nancy Swann, raised by Lavinia Swann.
He departed this life suddenly on July 19, 2019.
He received his education from the Baltimore City Public School System. He held various jobs but the job he loved the most was driving a tow truck. He was employed by Berman’s Towing, The Auto Barn Towing and Universal Towing Company, over the years many friends and family would call him for a tow but he finally hung his towing hat and completed his final tow and retired from Universal Towing in 2018.
Joe enjoyed watching westerns, watching sports and family trips to Outdoor World Campground in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Williamsburg, Virginia, Pocono Mountains and spending quality time with his family. Joe was one of a kind, you had to know him to understand him, because he always spoke his mind but he truly had a kind and giving heart.
Joe made numerous friends wherever he went and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his son Joseph Swann Jr., his mom Lavinia Swann, Nancy Swann, brother Gregory Swann (preceded in death), Maurice Swann and Myron Williams, sisters Tammy Swann and Tyrine Williams, aunts (preceded in death Lorraine White and Agnes Thornton), Christina Doles and Gertrude Swann, uncles Hezekiah Swann (preceded in death) and Wiley Cator, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
