Jennie Ree Staples, daughter of the late Asa and Nannie Staples, was born on July 30, 1931 in Meherrin, Virginia. On Thursday, March 17, 2022, she peacefully went into eternity to be with the Lord.
Jennie received her education in Meherrin, Virginia. She later moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she was employed by St. Joseph’s Hospital. She left her position at St. Joseph’s Hospital to care for her ailing parents. Jennie solely cared for her parents until their death. She also cared for grandson, Anthony (Tony) Maurice Randolph, Jr. until his death. She did not find it robbery to sacrifice her livelihood to care for her parents and grandson. She was protective and passionate about her family. Mess with her family and she would put you in your place; not afraid to fight.
In addition to her parent’s and grandson, Jennie was also preceded in death by a daughter that died at birth, a beloved sister, Cornelia Ann (Staples) Watkins, and two brothers, William and Samuel Staples.
Jennie’s death will be deeply felt by all those who knew and loved her, but those whom the loss is more vivid; include her daughter, Catherine White-Stinnette (Carlos, Sr.); four grandchildren - Carlos Jr., Akela, Kiyetta, and Faraji (Tasha); three great- grandchildren - Kevin, Aisha, and I’Layia; and one expected great-great grandchild – Khalani. Jennie also leaves to mourn her sister Emma (Staples) Pembroke and her brother Charlie Staples (Doris), and host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members.
