MR. JAMES LUTHER WRIGHT, was born on December 30, 1942 and transitioned on August 22, 2020 at the age of 77. He was the son of the late Ulysses and Lillie Bell Wright. He was born in Dillion, SC; but he grew up in Laurinburg, NC.
He was educated in the Scotland County Public School System. He worked in the country farms at an early age where he picked cotton. He also worked in the tobacco fields in the Carolinas. Later, he moved to Baltimore Maryland in 1964 at the age of 21. When he moved to Baltimore, Maryland, he became a labor worker. He enjoyed being employed at the AK Robinson Company. He was a hard worker, a great provider, a loving, dedicated, faithful husband and a devoted father.
He was an easygoing kind of guy, he was very kind and pleasant. He was quiet spirit, soft-spoken and patient, he had the ministries of help and a willing heart to lend a helping hand to others, in addition, he took pride and loved his Wright family and the Murphy's legacy.
He retired from the Sweetheart Cup Company, where he made paper cups and ice-cream cones. He received recognition as being the company's best dough mixer. He was given many raises and promotions. His outstanding work ethic led him to be a dough mixer trainer, which he trained others on how to operate the machine. He was united in holy matrimony on October 5, 1963 at the age of 20 to Lillie Mae Wright.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories his loving wife Lillie Mae Wright and his three sons, Kenneth Wright, Alvin Wright and James Mcphatter Wright; his one and only daughter, Veronica Wright; one daughter-in-law, Dolly M. Mcphatter Wright; and one son-in-law, Roderick Robinson; 8 grand children, D'Angelo J. Mcphatter, Travis A. Mcphatter, Kenneth Wright, Keith Wright, Keaira Wright, Joseph Wright, Alieshia Wright, Pam Wright, Dajuan Robinson and Karon Robinson; great-grandchildren, D'Quantez Z. McQueen, Ja'Niyah N., Tyrese J.and Travis A. Mcphatter Jr., Kennedy, Kendra, Kaiden and Kwantae Wright, Christian, Aubrey, Omari, Zion and Gabrielle Muhangi, Joseph, Jordan and Khai Wright, Cassis and Dhalia Boyd, Camille Wright, Dajuan , Damari and Zyaria Robinson; 3 sisters, Uzie Johnson, Lottie Ratcliff, and Lois Smith; 3 brother-in-laws,Roy Smith, Ricky Wright and Curtis Lee Bellamy 3 sister-in-laws, Francis Wright, Rosa Lee Terry and Anna Doris Murchison; and a whole host of nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
