JAMES DAVIS was born to James Davis Sr. and Eva (Eaddy) Davis on December 6, 1929. He was preceded in death by his brother Barton Davis, son Jams Howard Davis Sr., daughter Hattie Mae (Queen) Davis and cousin Junior Boatwright.
James was educated in South Carolina and met Nanette Boatwright, love was in the air and two wed in June of 1949, at the courthouse in Florence County, South Carolina. Out of this union, five children were born; Alice L. Davis, Eva (Davis) Drakeford, Hattie Mae (Queen) Davis, James Howard Davis, Sr., and Melissa Davis Cole.
The couple moved to Baltimore, MD where James was employed at Williams Chemical Plant for forty-four years. Upon his retirement, he still enjoyed watching sports, family time and playing his lottery.
An untimely diagnoses of lung cancer came in 2017, and the doctors gave an expiration of Christmas 2019. But GOD!
James continued enjoying his life as the quiet spirited man he was until December 15, 2020 when GOD called him home.
A gentle man he was, he leaves to cherish; three daughters, Alice L. Davis, Eva (Davis) Drakeford, and Melissa Davis Cole; one son-in-law, George Cole; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren and nineteen great-great grandchildren; long time friend, Bishop Fred Junior Grimm and a host of other relatives and friends.
