IRVIN C. BROWN, SR., son of the late Selmon and Amye Brown, and the brother of the late Derrick (Skippy) Brown was born on February 7, 1948 at University Hospital in Baltimore, MD. On Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 3:51 p.m., God’s merciful hands stilled the heart and relieved the pain of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Irvin was educated at Bates High School in Annapolis, MD and graduated in 1966 from Baltimore City College. After serving briey in the United States Air Force, Irvin went on to work for Sealy Mattress Company and Commercial Envelope before retiring from Oles Envelope, all located in Baltimore City, MD.
Irvin was known and cherished by many especially by his loving and devoted wife, Margaret D. Brown. He was a devoted father and friend who loved and nurtured all who crossed his path.
Irvin was an avid water fanatic. There was no greater joy for him than spending time fishing or on his jet ski at the beach with his buddy, pal, and son who preceded him in death, Irvin C. Brown, Jr. and their friends. Irvin, Sr. also enjoyed spending time in his man-cave over the garage which he designed and built himself.
Irvin’s death will be deeply felt by many, but those whom the loss is more vivid; include his loving devoted wife, Margaret; sons Richard (Tammy); Kevin, who preceded him in death; daughters Ericka (Charles) and Dawn (Lance);11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a special cousin Selma Scott; two sister-in-laws (Yvonne Brown and Terry Byrd) two bother-in-laws (Eugene and Anthony Watkins); two nieces, two special friends Carl Grinnage and Eric (Beez) Bates and host of other relatives and friends; whom all realize, “Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.”
