HANNAH ANNETTE PETERSON, beloved daughter of the late Hannah Louise Oliver Peterson and Robert Jessie Peterson, was born on July 26, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland. Hannah entered the arms of the Lord on August 31, 2023.
Hannah accepted the Lord at a early age. She grew up in Memorial Baptist Church in Baltimore, Md. There she was baptized. She received her early education in Baltimore City Schools, attending Benjamin Banneker Public School and Dunbar High School. During the summer time Hannah and her sisters were sent to Darlington, South Carolina to visit her aunts Mary Sims and Margaret Dargan for vacation. There they worked in the tobacco barns and cotton fields. Upon returning to Baltimore they assisted their mother in canning foods and preparing for the winter. Her mother would share the food they prepared with the neighborhood as long as they returned her mason jars. She also loved to visit her Aunt Molly Hilton in Philadelphia. Hannah worked at the five and ten store on North Ave. In 1985 she worked as a bus aide for The Maryland School for the Blind until retirement in 2007.
Hannah loved her family. She had a special love and bond with her five children, Tony Watson, Leonard Joyner, the late Keith Watson, Catina Watson and Kevin McClain. From the love of her 5 children she was blessed with over 49 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a unbreakable bond with her granddaughters Sharon, and great grandson AJ Jr. She also had a special bond with her nieces and nephews, Tanya, Clarence, Bobbie, Maurice and Alvin. Hannah was a part of and touched so many lives. She adopted many other as her own. She always opened the doors to her home for her family and friends.
Hannah was very outspoken. She never held back what she had to say. She loved to cook, eat crab with her family and feed everyone. Often Hannah would travel and go on shopping trips to New York, Atlantic City, Vegas, the Carolinas, various casinos and cruises. Hannah was the life of the party, she loved family gatherings and dancing with her grandchildren. There was never a dull moment around Hannah.
Hannah is now reunited with her parents, Hannah and Robert Peterson, son Keith Watson, Grandson Tony Watson Jr., sister Robbie Peterson, and great-grandson Allen Johnson. She leaves to cherish countless family and friends who will always love and cherish her memory including her sisters, Leola Carolyn Peterson and Elizabeth Peterson. Her legacy includes her surviving children, Tony Watson Sr., Leonard Joyner Sr., Catina Watson and Kevin Mcclain Sr., a host of grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews and cousins and other family. Hannah touched so many lives and hearts, too numerous to mention. She will truly be missed.
