We would be amidst if we didn’t speak of the young man Gene, who was a sharp dresser with gorgeous deep dimples that got all the ladies attention. He even wore a beard back then. He would keep it trimmed and very classy and cut it off every summer. Being the man that he was he got Barbara’s attention and it was over for the young single man. Their matrimony brought about two beautiful children Barbara and Eric Duvall.
Gene loved watching DVD’s which he fondly called DBD’s. He also enjoyed going to Lexington Market and going out to eat.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, brothers Harold Barnes, William Barnes, and Charles Barnes.
He leaves to mourn children Gerald Stokes, Barbara Dix (Herman), and Eric Duvall (Maria). Seven Grandchildren Shenicka (Vernon), Shanell, Eric Jr. (Arnetta), Dominique (Kiana), Ericka, Kayla and three Great Grandchildren. One Sister In-law Alfine Mitchell, and a host of family and friends.
