Estelle Williams Obituary

Mrs. Estelle Louise Williams(Stella Girl), of Baltimore,Maryland made her transition on Thursday, September 9,2021 at the age of 74. Estelle was born May14,1947 to the late Leroy Clarence Smith and Mabel Smith in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the oldest daughter of seven children. She was happy and always helped take care of her sisters and brothers.

She received her education from the Baltimore City Public Schools. Estelle graduated from Dunbar High School and attended Strayer Business College. She also attended Morgan State University.

Estelle loved music and was in a professional singing group “ The Cineemas”. The two hit songs were “Never Gonna Cry” and “A Crush On You”. The song group were Sandra Chambers, Carole Speight, Jackie Williams and Estelle Williams. She enjoyed singing with them and they remain good friends forever.

Estelle was a long time member of East Baltimore Church of Christ for many years faithfully. She is also a member of Central Church of Christ. She was in the choir "One Accord”. She participated in various activities at the church faithfully, like intermediate bible group, senior ministry, communion committee, sisters tea, registration committee for annual gospel meetings, Tuesday night sister’s class, marriage retreats and many other activities in the church.

Estelle worked at Maryland National Bank with her best friend Sue Chapman for 18 years. She also worked for The Division of Rheumatology for 23 years where she retired on August 18,2021. She was a great and admired worker at these jobs. She was a great co worker and team player for the number division ranked in US news all over the world.

Estelle loved reading, writing, shopping and watching Netflix, going to movies and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved traveling with the church to various functions, and going out to eat often with family and friends. Her favorite restaurant for fast food was "Royal Farms Chicken”. Her favorite food also was crab cakes eaten at various 5 star restaurants.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leroy C. Smith Jr. and William B. Smith; one sister, Carolyn P. Waters.

Estelle is survived by her children, Monique L. Redd-Speight, Evelyn Long, and James Long Jr,; son-in-law, Steven W.Speight; sisters, Catherine B. Williams, Joann L. Smith and Gloria D. Smith; and grandchildren, Aliahya M. Speight, Ali T. Speight, Jailyn A. Richardson, Jordyn J. Richardson, Tristan A. Richardson, and Keyon M. Scott; special friends, "The Cineemas”, Sandra Chambers, Carole Speight, Jackie Willams, best friend of fifty years, Sue Chapman and a host of nieces, nephews and friends, along with her church family, brothers and sisters at East Baltimore Church Christ and Central Church Of Christ, host of co- workers from Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and Division of Rheumatology.
