ESTELLE LILLIAN CORNISH, daughter of the late Henry Wilson and Lillian Wilson was born August 30, 1940. After a lengthy illness, Estelle transitioned to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
Estelle was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools and ended her formal education at Dunbar High School.
Estelle accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was an active member of Miracle Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor murphy Sr. As a choir and missioner member, she loved to participate in Sunday School Activities.
Estelle met and married William "Sonny" Cornish, Jr. During this union, three angels were born Karen, Debby and Toni. Although this union formally ended in divorce, they remained the best of friends.
For a short period, Estelle was a school bus driver and Bingo driver, but her longest tenure was with English American Tailoring Company. Her unconditional love and affection was extended to children of Second Home for over 10 years. As an entrepreneur, she organized several businesses selling Tupperware, Blinko, Poplar Club and Avon.
Estelle aka Moses loved family gatherings. She enjoyed listening and dancing to old school music and joking with her sisters and brothers. She loved to cook and eat crabs with her family. She was a tough cleanup woman, but her giving was spotless. She enjoyed going to the Casinos, playing cards and yelling B-I-N-G-O. Watching soap operas and wrestling matches was her favorite pastime.
Estelle was preceded in death by her son Marcel Black. As she closes the door of her generation on the Family Tree, she leaves to cherish in memories three daughters, Karen Lang, Debby Cornish-Green (Lawrence), Toni Cornish and extended daughter, Shantiece Lyles; seven grandchildren, Shanice, Shanell, Vernard Jr., Shanae, Aubrey, Lyric and Sevyn; seven great-grandchildren, Jaquan, Demetrius, Kanae, Ta'Majai, Brian Jr., Aaron Jr. and Jesiah; two great-great granddaughter, Serenity and Harmani; devoted friend, William Cornish Jr. and devoted cousin, Margie Tate, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
