ESTELLE MANIGAULT, affectionately known as Granny-Gran to her grandchildren and Deenie by her siblings, was born to the late Arthur and Estelle Glover, who both preceded her in death. She was born and raised in Baltimore City. She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She married Andrew Manigault at a young age, who also preceded her in death by three of her children, Andrew, Arthur and Alexander Manigault.
Estelle was employed at the Hamilton Street Club for decades before retiring. This club was a membership exclusive to judges and lawyers only. The family still reminisces about the stories she told about that place. Estelle loved to cook and feed everybody. She loved her soap operas, and we would be remiss if we didn't mention her favorite movie, "True to the Game, Part 3". She also loved running her mouth on the phone for hours with her sister Gloria. This was a daily routine, right after the soap operas went off. Estelle loved to dance. She displayed that love most recently at her granddaughter's wedding in Jamaica when her and her sister Gloria showed out! She loved people. She loved having long conversations and getting to know people. To know her was to love her. She always talked about going out and finding a new man, even at the age of 91! But most of all, she loved her grand and great grandchildren. She loved rocking them to sleep, singing to them, feeding and spoiling them rotten.
She also loved to travel. Her and her sister Gloria, her partner in crime, took many trips. They used to take their mother down to South Carolina to visit yearly. Even after their mom passed, Estelle continued to take those trips every summer with family, coordinated by her other partner in crime, her granddaughter. She traveled to many places both state-side and internationally, every chance she got.
Estelle leaves to cherish her memory, her three children, Sheila, Sharon and Arnold Manigault; her eight grandchildren, Arnell, Dondre, Nikki, David, Tirall, Pyrella, Arnold Jr. and bonus grandson Russell 3rd; her nine, great-grandchildren, Ciara, Derrick, Martez, Dondre, Jr., Jayce, Sammi, Tianni, Lil Russell and Payton; her five great-great-grandchildren, Zionna, Kamden, Lyric, Kelsey and baby Jayceon; her sister Gloria, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all from Maryland and South Carolina.
