Erlene Alva Servance was born on February 25 1949, at Sloan’s Presperterian Hospital for Women in New York, NY. She was the first child born to Earl T. Hood and Polly W. Hood. Erlene was Baptized at an early age at Metropolitan Community Methodist Church in NY. She attended George W. Wingate High School where she graduated in 1966 in Brooklyn, NY. She continued her studies at two Junior Colleges and finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management at the University of Baltimore in Baltimore, MD. After graduating she managed various women clothing such as the AVENUE and Lane Bryant stores then eventually retired from the Baltimore City Police Department. In 2002 she met Vincent Servance. In 2005 Vincent and Erlene got married in 2005. Erlene was a member of the Nazarene Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and collecting silver jewelry which she loved so much. Erlene was called to eternal rest on November 16, 2020 quietly in her home. She will be missed by all who knew her. Erlene leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, Vincent Servance; Two sons, Kamin Hood; and Darnell Hood; Four siblings, Paulette Buckley, Anthony Hood, Tanya Hood and Gregory Hood; Grand Daughter, Koren Hood; many nieces and nephews; and a host of beloved relatives, friends and beloved church family.
