Ella N. Demby

Ella Demby affectionately known as Mama was born on February 13,1929 through the union of the late John Henry and Kate Myers. She had nine siblings, John Myers Jr., Bernice Myers, Beatrice Chase (Myers), Betsy Johns (Myers), Jim Myers, Eugene Myers. All of whom has preceded her in death. She was married to the late Alexander Demby.

Ella received her education from the Baltimore County Public School System, upon completing school Ella provided for her family through various jobs in the domestic field.

Ella received her wings on May 8, 2021 and has been reunited with three of her children Earnest Myers, Betsy Boyd (Demby), and John Demby.

She leaves to mourn her remaining three children, son Charles Demby; daughters, Bernice Jones (Demby) and Peggy Demby; godsons; Darnell and Johnny; her dearest sister Alfreda Miles, along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

During her later years Ella lived with her daughter Bernice and her great grandchildren Tyanna Isreal and Jamal Hawkins who all cared for her through her lengthy illness. She had a very special bond with her grandsons Phillip, Levon, Norris (who she lovingly referred to as FatHead) and Clifton. Mama will forever be remembered for her love of cooking, dancing, and travelling. She always enjoyed going to church at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, when she was able to attend.

Ella truly loved people and was loved by all that met her, she was a beautiful person inside and out and will be genuinely missed.
