Elizabeth Comer Obituary

Elizabeth Lewis Comer   born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 18, 1930 to the late Myrtle Gillard and John Henry Lewis, was called home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 16, 2019.

On July 20, 1975, Elizabeth married the love of her life Henry Comer.

Even though they never had biological children together, their love for family and children was so great that they chose to raise their Nephew James Patterson, Great Great Nephew Dion Patterson, and Great Great Niece Deitra Golder.

Growing up, Elizabeth was affectionately called Liz or Aunt Liz by family and friends.

Her vibrant spirit would always uplift and encourage those in her presence.

Elizabeth was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost at the First Apostolic Faith Church under the late Bishop Turpin.

In her later years, Elizabeth joined High Christian Church under the leadership

of District Elder Wesley Thomas, where she served as an Usher.

Living in Baltimore, Elizabeth was educated in Baltimore City Schools System.

As an advocate for the City of Baltimore and the State of Maryland, Elizabeth received several Citations and Awards from several Governors of Maryland and several Mayors of Baltimore.

Aunt Liz was the Family’s Queen Entrepreneur, who sold the Worlds Famous Fried Crabs, Frozen Cups, and Candy Apples using her very OWN recipe.

People would come from all parts of town just to indulge in her delicious treats.

Elizabeth leaves to cherish her 96 year old Sister Helen Brown, a Sister in law Delores Boston, a HOST of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, great great great nieces and nephews and family and friends.
