Earl Stanley Marks son of the late Margaret and Santee Marks, was born on March 9, 1948. On June 19, 2021 God dispatched angels to guide his soul peacefully from life to eternal Rest in Glory.
He was affectionately known by family and friends as “Sugar Bear”.
He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School system.
After graduating from high school he was employed by Bethlehem Steel Shipyard as a ShipFitter. He worked there for over 40 years until he retired on August 21, 2010.
While growing up he loved playing sports, he lifted weights with his friends on Fridays and sometimes Saturdays. He and his sister would go to the coliseum to skate. Earl loved to dance and play cards with family and friends. He had his favorite sports teams. He and his father loved wrestling.
He was united in holy matrimony to his devoted wife Dorothy Ann Fountain.
Earl (Bear) was baptized at Jones Tabernacle Baptist Church, he loved volunteering every Wednesday to feed the homeless. At the time of his death his church home was New Christian Baptist Fellowship Church under the leadership of Bishop Richard Grimes Jr.
Earl was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Margaret and Santee Marks; son, Michael S. Marks; brother, Edward Jackson and sister Phyllis Marks.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife Dorothy A. Marks (Diane) of eleven years; children, Kevin daughter-in-law (Farrh), Blair, Danielle, Kameka, Qaunten and daughter-in-law (Rudi), Terry Jones, son-in-law (Eric), and Frederick Daniel and daughter-in-law (Melody); siblings, Bernadine Matthews, Ellen Marks, brother-in-law (Keith Thomas) and Elvis Marks along with nineteen grandchildren; one great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. A devoted nephew Andre Marks, wife (Ericka).
