Curtis Stokes Jr. Obituary

Curtis Hugh Stokes Jr was born on July 11, 1940 to the late Curtis Hugh Stokes Sr. And Alice Stokes.

He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System and earned many certifications throughout the years as a personal caregiver assistant. However his most fulfilling career choice was becoming self employed as a licensed vendor where he sold designer clothes handbags and all kinds of fashionable clothing.

When he wasn’t doing that he was always sharing a kind God filled word or anything he learned from life in recovery. He was a walking Bible and NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS 12 step program book, he was always seen on his porch all throughout the day doing this. Everyone in the neighborhood loved and respected him and he in turn felt the same way.

He really appreciated his neighbors, especially one of his closest friends Delroy who took him everywhere he wanted to go. Curtis had a love for R & B but mostly gospel music and loved anything by the mighty clouds of joy. He also just genuinely loved people and he loved to help people in any way that he could.

He found peace in his deep seated faith in God, he was always soft spoken and full of joy in every situation. Even in losing two of his closest family members both in one year. After this his health began to decline and he was able to connect with his younger cousin and reside with her until his passing. This was such a great experience as they had become inseparable.

Curtis had four children, two of whom preceded him in death, Dartanyon and Ettare(Princess).

Left to cherish his memory is his two daughters, Ren’e and Paula; four grandchildren, Tokisha(Maurice), Dartanyon, Brandon and Chanta; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; his devoted cousin, lylydia Stokes aka yummy who stuck with him until the very end, five siblings, two brothers, Clyde and Bernard who preceded him in Death; one sister, Debbie and two brothers remaining Reggie and Andre and a host of family friends and associates.
