On October 23, 2018 Crystal Brown Powell was called home to be in the loving arms of the Lord and to join loved ones, who have gone before her, after a long and hard fight.

She is survived by her three children, Steven Young, Tonia Powell (Denise) and Melvin Williams Jr. (Ayesha); four grandchildren, Jasmine, Kjameel, Shameel and Khalil; two great grandchildren, Camira and Ayden; brother, Willie O. Powell Jr.; sister, Gwendolyn Powell Watson (William Si); three nieces, Tara, Shionta and Lakisha; two nephews, Tyrell and Marcus; Special "son" Antoine Purnell; special friends, Mildred Ford, Sandra (Samantha) Yancey-Archie, Olivia Lowery and Pat Clark; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, family-in-laws and friends.
