CARL LEE WILLIAMS, JR. was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 21, 1952 to the late Ilene Patterson and the late Carl L. Carl grew up on the west side of town on Francis Street, which was in walking distance from Cloverdale Park. On any given day (except Sundays) you could find him and his late brother Sam at the park "shooting hoops".

Both he and Sam were avid basketball players. Carl was known as "Jumbo" to his buddies. Carl was also well dressed when it was time to go out or show off. Always "dressed to the nines" Carl received his education from Baltimore City Public Schools and is a graduate of Baltimore City Collage High School, class of 1971.
