On Friday, December 18, 2020, Carl, loving husband and father received his wings. He was 65 years old. Carl Tucker was born on August 3, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Matthew Elmore Tucker and Rosa Lee Marks.
He was preceded in death by his older brother, William Elmore Tucker.
Carl accepted Christ at an early age. He later rededicated his life to Christ at Zion Baptist Church. Carl was very grateful for Pastor Marshall F. Prentice who always supported him throughout the years.
Carl was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system. He graduated from Northern High School in 1973. He attended Morgan State University while beginning his career at Bethlehem Steel Corporation. Carl worked in the lab as a metallurgist analyzing steel products. He worked there for over 22 years until the lab closed. He then went to work for Giant Corporation in the management training program. Another opportunity came along, and he worked for GE Corporation for several years. However, he found his new home when he started working for Clorox Corporation for over 10 years. He loved his job and the people he worked with. Carl didn’t want to retire but had to do what was best for his health. Even after retirement, Carl remained close with many of his co-workers whom he considered family.
Carl was known to many people who called him by his full name, “Carl Tucker” or simply “Tucker”. He was a fun-loving man who loved people, all types of music, science, history and traveling. If he knew you or not, he could start a conversation. He loved to talk, especially telling stories about “back in the day”. Carl’s passion included spending time with family and friends, clothes, shoes, shopping and more clothes! People always knew him as a Well-Dressed Man – SHARP! He even won an award at Clorox for being the “Best Dressed Employee” and that was in a uniform!
On June 17, 2000, Carl married the love of his life, Rhonda Carter “Renny”. She was one of his best friend’s little sister whom he had known since she was 12 years old. They laughed about that all the time.
Carl’s life will truly be celebrated by those he left behind! His loving and devoted wife, Rhonda; his children, Shannon, Jenee, Nyah, Kierra, Justin and “dog son” Bailey; grandchildren; brother Rick(Lollie); aunt Louise Birchett; loving mother in law, Sonia Carter; cousin/brother, Donald. Carl had a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends all of whom he loved dearly. He was loved and will be missed greatly…as he always ended his phone calls, “I love you man”!
