Bobby Cannon was born on February 1, 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland to Essex Gaylord and Clara Cox who preceded him in death. On March 24th he departed from this life after a lengthy illness.
Bobby was raised in a religious home and attended services with his mother and other family members as a child.
He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School system.
He had to leave school early and go into the military where he stayed for 2 years until he was released from duty. After he left military service, he began working for Lucas Brothers. He worked for Lucas Brothers for over 15 years. While working for Lucas Brothers he met a wonderful woman in 1979 named Patricia (Thomas) Cannon whom he later married and remained with her until his death. He later worked for Clay Stambaugh until he could no longer bear the laborious task of a sanitation worker and retired unofficially.
“Pop” as we affectionately called him was very gifted with his hands, he could fix anything from cars to houses and anything in between. He was often called on to do home improvement work by family members, friends, and people in the neighborhood.
Pop loved watching movies and spending time with family. His all-time favorite movies were Bruce Lee movies. Pop had many hobbies among a few were collecting stamps, comic books, antique coins, knives and in his later years collecting different translations of the bible. Pop also loved to listen to all types of music and cook on Sundays. He was the best male cheese biscuit maker we knew!
Pop’s love for collecting different translations of the bible came after he became a member of the body of Christ. He was baptized for the remission of his sins at the Central Church of Christ on May 25, 1997. Pop will be missed tremendously but as we know God loved him more than any human could, and the family is pleased that he does not have to suffer anymore. Pop is now resting comfortably in the bosom of Abraham until Jesus comes back, because of his commitment and obedience to the Lord.
He leaves to mourn: his wife Patricia Cannon, 1 sister Rose Sessions, 6 daughters and 1 son, Edna (Calvin), Lataisha Byrd (Steven), Nicole, Annie (Dwight), Lucy Miller (Keith), Chanell Whitfield (Donnie) and Bobby Cannon Jr and one god child Danielle Chapman. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, 2 aunts that were close like mothers Joyce Davis (Gerald) and Geraldine Cannon (Luke) who preceded
him in death, 2 cousins that were like brothers Ronald Cannon and James Cronell and finally Alexander who was like a brotherly friend along with many other relatives and friends.
