Beverly Mae Parker was born on October 25, 1939 to the late Thomas and Mamie Anderson in Baltimore, Maryland. Beverly departed her life peacefully on March 20, 2022 after a lengthy illness.
Beverly received her education in the Baltimore City School System. She was a proud graduate of Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School.
Beverly was employed at Steel Tin for many years. She then became employed at Deutch Bank Alex Brown and Sons, and later retired after 20 years of service.
Beverly married the late George Parker Sr. on April 15, 1959 out of that union they were blessed with five beautiful children. Beverly enjoyed family gatherings, watching game shows, cooking, traveling, doing crossword puzzles and attending the Hampton Ministry Retreats. Beverly had unconditional love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would do anything in the world for them. There was no mountain to high that she would not climb for them.
Beverly also took pride in making sure her community stayed clean, sweeping every morning and scrubbing her white marble steps. She enjoyed spending time talking to her neighbors Audrey, Tina and Harriett (The Golden Girls).
Beverly was a proud God fearing committed member of Fountain Baptist church for over 50 years. During that time, she was a part of many auxiliaries such as the Senior Choir, Mass Choir, Dramatic Gil, Sanctuary Choir, Women’s Ministry, Young Adult Usher Board, Intercessory Prayer Group, Youth Ministry Advisor, Trusteets and The Willing Workers. Beverly loved her church family; she was known for inviting anyone to church and bringing her grandchildren, great grandchildren and kids from the neighborhood to Vacation Bible School.
Beverly was very family oriented; she never turned anyone away. She always had an open door policy to family, friends and a few strangers. She was loved for being a Non Judgemental person showing her Christ like qualities. Beverly was known for her famous fried chicken, you could walk down McElderry Street and smell the aroma coming out the door.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband George Phillip Parker Sr.; daughter, Paula Parker; sister, Diane Anderson; brother, Phillip Johnson Sr. and goddaughter, Evoya Carr.
Beverly leaves to mourn: sons, Darrell (Carol Ann), George and Cletis Parker; daughter, Iris Parker; grandchildren, Monica Parker (Rodell), Denitra Myers (Sudi), Anthony Conway (Synphonie), Gregory Yerby (Ashley), Jamaal Parker, Tracey Harrison, Stacy Conway, Markis Parker, Keyon Urquhart, Jasmine Urquhart (Makel), Desmond Johnson (Anyssia), Charnell Eliot, Terrell Young, Kyree Jackson, sixteen great grandchildren; one sister, Elaine Taylor; three brother in laws; three sister in laws; a special nephew, Eric Anderson; two goddaughters, Charvette McLaurin (Tasha) and Capria Smith; a special cousin Barbara Ann Jones; adopted son’s, Robert Wilson and Clifton Urqurhart; adopted granddaughters, Lapiffany Shearin and Aleah Patrick; two special friends Rosa Fair and Hattie Terrell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
