BARBARA ELIZABETH COLEMAN entered this world to Tinner and Johnnie Pierce. Life began for her on the beautiful Lord's day of April 24, 1940 in Florence, SC. She began her faith with the Lord at Water's African Methodist Episcopal Church where she accepted Christ under the pastorate of the late Reverend Melvin C. Swann. She served faithfully on the Senior Female Usher Board as well as the Choir. Barbara enjoyed sewing and cooking with her family but most of all having a good time. She left a lasting impression on those she encountered with her love out loud and proud for all. She was a one of kind to those who loved and cared for her.

Barbara completed her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She graduated from Dunbar High School on February 6, 1959 receiving her High School Diploma where her goal was to be successful. She would later become an administrative assistant with the Department of Social Security where she would then retire from in June of 2009.

She would later join in matrimony, Preston Coleman and share 2 children (son) Darren Coleman and (daughter) Peyton Coleman. Barbara gave her life to the Lord our Savior Jesus Christ at an early age. Barbara was a loving dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Known to always tell it like it is to those around, she was loud with a soulful laugh. Barbara was stylish and enjoyed shopping with her sister Hilda. She also enjoyed video chatting with her great grandchildren and dancing, but most of all eating good food and being around her family near and far.
