WILLIAM EARL SALLIEY SR, affectionally known as "SAL, " entered eternal rest on September 23, 2024. He entered this earthly world on March 17, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland to proud parents of the late Abraham and Bernice Salliey.
Sal received his formal education in the Baltimore City Public School System graduating from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School, where he excelled academically and socially. Shortly after graduation, Sal gained employment at Attman's Delicatessen, where he affectionally loved and serve his customers and family for over 30 years. Two of Sal's signature dishes he was known for was the top tier corn beef sandwiches and double layer party trays, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service.
In his free time, Sal was a die hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, always cheering on his favorite team and talking trash to Baltimore Ravens fans.
In 1982 Sal met Betty Crowell, they remained in a loving and committed relationship until his transition on September 23, 2024. The two quickly started to build their own family, William Jr., was born in 1985, Brian Jamal quickly followed in 1989 and shortly after the family became complete with the birth of Sean Arthor Salliey in 1990. As their family grew so did Sal's love and affection for Betty's parents. Affectionally Sal would refer to Betty's mother Margaret Crowell as his mother-in-law. As Sal's health begin to decline his love and concern for his mother-in-law's health never faded. He would check on her and prepare food for her until his last breath.
Sal enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and will be remembered for the times they spent together with his affectional laugh and undying loyalty for his Steelers. Sal was preceded in death by his sisters Carolyn Bright, Vivian Salliey and his brothers Sylvester and Steven Salliey.
Sal's fond memories will always be cherish by his three sons William Jr. Brian and Sean Salliey his wife as he called her Betty Crowell, his mother-in-law Margaret Crowell, one daughter-in-law, Tasia Salliey, five grandchildren Kaiden, Milan, Camdyn, Nouri and Avery and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and riends.
