William Thomas Johnson was born in Washington, D.C. to the late Thomas Andrew Johnson and Lucille Anita (Hopkins) Johnson August 4th 1947.

Moving from Washington D.C. to Baltimore, MD at an early age William fondly known as “Billy”, received his education from Baltimore City Public Schools. He graduated from Dunbar High School in 1967.  While in school he join the United States Naval Reserves as a Seamen from 1964 to 1967.  Billy furthered his education at the University of Maryland- College Park and Morgan State University. He worked at General Instrument as a Drafter until later becoming a Baltimore City Educator at Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School until his retirement in 2003.

Billy loved being active in the outdoors. With his family and friends you could find him on the weekends working on his vehicles, fishing, sailing and traveling.  Billy loved listening to classical music, playing the French horn and watching science fiction. He touched the lives of many people with his love of Computers and Engineering.  Throughout his life Billy enjoyed supporting the Navy from his time spent in military service.

Billy married his high school sweetheart Jean Hamlett in 1968 and out of this union three sons (Michael, Kevin and Sean) and four grandchildren were born. He dedicated his life to counseling and teaching his sons on how to be providers.

William T. “Billy” Johnson leaves to mourn:

His beloved wife Jean of 50 years.

His three sons: Michael, Kevin (Tamika) and Sean (Marquet) Johnson.

As a devoted grandfather, he treasured his five grandchildren: Joshua Johnson, Nikolas Russell, Tyese Y. Johnson, Christopher Johnson and Alyssa Nelson which will be forever impacted by his influence and love.

He enjoyed the company of his three brothers and one sister: Dennis Johnson (Proceeded him in Death), Dwayne (Deborah) Rosenburgh, Susan (Larry) Royster and Averil Rosenburgh.

A devoted Cousin and Childhood Friends: Alfreda Butler & Stanley Taylor

He will also be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends.
