Listen to Obituary

WILLETTE ADAMS was born December 22, 1949, in Baltimore Maryland to the late Zebedee Adams and Helen Jones (Adams.) She was the youngest of three children, one brother Vincent Adams who passed in 1996 and an older sister Barbara Brown. Willette ascended on September 21, 2020.

Willette enjoyed a normal childhood and would often recall how important family traditions were to her. She was raised in church and became a member of Faith Baptist Church at an early age. It was easy for her to abide by the ‘”The Golden Rule, to do unto others as you would want them to do unto you.)”

Willette attended Baltimore City Public Schools and was a good student. Willette graduated from Dunbar Senior High School in 1967. Willette did attend college for a while, but opted to take courses that would give her the opportunity to be more (“hands on.)” Willette was in the Army Reserve and received positive reviews. She found employment with Baltimore City, Downtown Partnership and other companies. Willette also volunteered at local health agencies and churches. One of her last assignments was with maintenance at Memorial Baptist Church.

Willette truly enjoyed sharing with others, but never talked about it. Many that know her can attest to her loyalty, her honesty, and her giving heart. Willette never learned how to drive, but used public transportation to visit friends, neighbors, shut-ins, seniors, disabled people and even strangers. After spending time with them, she would give them a ‘”Thinking of You” card, a few dollars and maybe a pretty plant. These acts of kindness were usually completed by her comforting words “love you.” Willette enjoyed writing, reading religious books and watching old television programs and movies, but most of all she really loved collecting all kinds of things that she would also share.

Willette lived with her sister, Barbara Brown and nephew, Damon Brown, who will really miss her. She will also be missed by two close nieces, Roxanne Adams and Tracy Brown, nephew, Anthony Martin and best friend, Gloria Bates, and a host of family members, including cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and community.
