Listen to Obituary

Will Barber, the son of Ashley and Bernice Barber, was born on

February 28th, 1953. After a lengthy illness, the Lord saw fit to call him

home on January 16th, 2017.

Will grew up in Baltimore, MD and received his education in the Baltimore

City Public School System. After graduating from Carver High School,

Will served his country as a United States Marine from 1974 to 1976. After

returning from service, Will worked in the construction industry with his

father for many years. It was during this time Will married Katherine

(who preceded him in passing), or "Kate", as she was affectionately known.

At the time of his illness he was employed with Class Produce Group.

Will had a zest for life and would dance the night away when given the

chance. He loved to cook, read, watch his Westerns on GRIT t.v., playing

solitaire and shopping (he loved to dress). Two of his favorite musical

inspirations were Earth,Wind and Fire and the Temptations.

Will leaves a host of family and friends to cherish his memory: his mother,

Bernice (father Ashley preceded Will in 1993); two daughters, Troya

Watters and Tracey Anderson (from union with Leatrice Anderson); ten

grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters, Elzina McNeil and Elvona

Spriggs; brother-in-law, James McNeil Sr.; nephews, Lawrence Bolding and

James McNeil Jr.; nieces, Ailisa, Anisha, Laetitica, Andrea and Jeannette;

special cousins, Gregory, Ronald, Kim and John; best friend, Ronda; and

three companions, Oreo, Bear and Remy. Will was loved by all who knew

him and he will be missed by all.
