WALLACE ("HAPPY") GEORGE beloved son of the late Learle and Boyd George, was born March 12, 1940 in Darlington, South Carolina. He received his education in the Darlington County School System. He departed this life on January 17, 2025.
Wallace left his southern home to take on new adventures, including starting his own family in the "Big Apple", Manhattan, New York. He worked there for many, many years and married his sweetheart, Henrietta Smith; through this union three children were born. Sheila, Sharon & Lionell.
Wallace was brought up in church, and baptized in New Hopewell Baptist Church of Darlington, South Carolina. He later moved his family from New York to Maryland and joined High Rock Missionary Baptist Church as an active member for many years, alongside his parents, siblings and family. Thus becoming the George Tribe of HRMBC under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus James I. Lightfoot, Sr.
Wallace leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Deacon Henrietta George, his daughter, Reverend Sheila George Leslie, New York, his daughter preceded in death, Sharon George, his son, Lionell George both of Maryland. His sister Rozenia George, two brothers Lavern George (Izzy) and Frank George (Hazel), three brother-in-laws, one sister-in-law, 10 grandchildren, Shameeka (John), Shaquanna (Christopher), Sevena (Marcus), Davonte (Madison), Diamonte, David (Tiffanie), Nikyla, Pahge (Tyler), Lynnell, Jaiya; 17 great grandchildren, John 3rd, Nolan, Byron, Aria, Sebastian, Isabella, Kamau, Prince, Ryley, Jmiah, Jala, Jade, Janae, Mercy, Zhane, Asher, Tayler; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends, extended family at High Rock Missionary Baptist Church, extended family at John Hopkins including doctors, nurses, staff and patients.
