Val, Ms. Val or Aunt Val which she was affectionately known to many, loved her family and friends and they loved her too. She loved traveling to Cambridge, Maryland to be with her many nieces and nephews, over one hundred and fifty. She also loved thrifting and shopping.
She loved the Lord. She was a member of Israel Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Harley Wilson II and was a member of the Senior Silver Eagles Ministry. Her illness prevented her from traveling whereupon she joined the church in her apartment building (Mary Harvin Center) the Universal Kingdom of God Ministries, under the leadership of Minister Barbara Brickhouse.
One son preceded her in death, Gregory Holcombe (Logan), two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Valerie leaves to mourn three children Audrey Matthews, Denise and Tamela Holcombe; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; numerous family members and friends, including special friends Rosie Williams, Edna Moore, Estelle Nash, Ms. Weldon and Lucille Vaughn.
